OLOMOUC, Czech Republic (AP) -- David Lafata scored twice in the opening six minutes to help the Czech Republic to a 3-0 victory over Slovakia on Wednesday in an international friendly of two nations that once formed one country.

Lafata headed into the net in the third minute from a cross by defender Theodor Gebre Selassie. He scored another three minutes later from close range for his fifth international goal.

Borek Dockal made it 3-0 in the 72nd in his first international.

The Czechs used nine uncapped players, five as substitutes.

The two teams represent countries that formed Czechoslovakia until its 1993 split.

They will continue their World Cup qualifying campaign on March 22. The Czechs host Denmark in Group B, while Slovakia plays Lithuania in Group G.
