Portugal: Benfica wins at Estoril to stay first

LISBON, Portugal (AP) -- Benfica cruised to a 3-1 win at Estoril to retain its place at the top of the Portuguese league on Sunday.

Benfica is undefeated after 13 rounds and leads defending champion FC Porto by three points but having played a match more.

Midfielder Nicolas Gaitan scored for Benfica in the 37th minute from a pass by Oscar Cardozo.

Substitute Lima doubled the visitors' advantage with a goal in the 59th, before Eduardo Salvio capped the victory seven minutes later.

Goncalo Dos Santos grabbed a consolation goal for Estoril two minutes from time.

Also on Sunday, third-place Braga beat last-place Moreirense 1-0, while Beira Mar drew 1-1 at Maritimo.
