Striker Milan Baros has returned home to play for his former club Banik Ostrava in the Czech league.

Monday's move comes after Baros and his Galatasaray agreed to terminate his contract last week.

Banik says Baros signed a contract till June 2014 but the club agreed to allow him join a foreign club at the end of this season, if there is an interest.

Baros left Banik in 2001 to join Liverpool and won the Champions League with the Premier League club in 2005. He also played for Aston Villa, Lyon and Portsmouth before signing in 2008 for Galatasaray, where he scored 48 goals in his 93 appearances.

The 31-year-old retired from international football after last year's European Championship.
