Jose Mourinho insists future is undecided

Jose Mourinho and Real Madrid were eliminated by Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

Jose Mourinho insisted on Friday he hasn't decided whether he will return for a fourth season as coach of Real Madrid.

"I have not made any decision about whether I will stay or go,'' the Portuguese manager said.

Mourinho said on Tuesday following his team's exit from the Champions League semifinals that he may not be back at Madrid next season. He hinted he could return to England, where he has been linked with the manager's job at former club Chelsea.

On Friday, Mourinho had more kind words for Chelsea, a club where he has said he felt "loved'' and with the unconditional support denied him by the local press in Spain.

"I always leave my clubs on good terms,'' he said. "The same with my exit from Chelsea, which while it looked controversial, wasn't.''

Mourinho, who is under contract with Madrid until the summer of 2016, repeated that he will wait until this season is over to meet with Madrid president Florentino Perez to decide if the moment has arrived to part ways.

Madrid hosts crosstown rival Atletico Madrid on May 17 in the Copa del Rey final. The last game of the Spanish league season for Madrid will be on the first weekend in June. Madrid is set to finish runner-up to Barcelona.

Mourinho also tried to downplay the speculation his comments have generated by pointing out that it was normal for there to be coaching changes at the end of the season.

"The same thing happens in practically every club,'' he said. "Look at Paris (PSG) and they say that Carlo (Ancelotti) is going. Look at Bayern, the record champion, and its coach leaves and (Pep) Guardiola arrives. Look at (Manchester) City and you see Roberto (Mancini) is leaving. You look at Chelsea and (Rafa) Benitez is leaving and me or whoever is coming. There are a lot of clubs that are experiencing similar situations.''
