MLS hands Impact's Sanna Nyassi one-game ban for diving

MONTREAL (AP) - Montreal midfielder Sanna Nyassi has been suspended one game and fined by Major League Soccer for faking contact that led to a tie for the Impact.

The MLS disciplinary committee determined Nyassi feigned being taken down in the box, which led to Patrice Bernier's penalty kick in the 80th minute in a 1-1 tie with Chivas USA last Sunday.

Nyassi unsuccessfully appealed the decision. He is scheduled to serve the suspension Saturday when the Impact play at the Red Bulls.

Chivas USA defender Mario De Luna appeared to take down Nyassi in the penalty area, but the disciplinary committee unanimously determined that Nyassi collapsed before the challenge.
