Mexico: De Nigris leads Chivas, Queretaro wins 2nd straight
MEXICO CITY (AP) - Aldo de Nigris scored the lone goal in the second half as Chivas defeated Chiapas 1-0 on Sunday, while Queretaro is the only team to have won its opening two matches of Mexico's Clausura tournament after it overcame Pumas 1-0 on Friday.
Rodolfo Vilchis volleyed in Queretaro's winner four minutes from the final whistle.
Toluca drew 2-2 Morelia and Puebla and Monterrey drew 1-1 in Sunday's other games.
A Carlos Morales shot beat Toluca `keeper Alfredo Talavera at the near post in the 4th, but Edgar Benitez struck back for Toluca two minutes later.
Christian Valdez curled an effort into the far corner in the 39th to once again hand Morelia the lead, before Pablo Velazquez equalized from the penalty spot in the 55th.
Monterrey went ahead in the 3rd with Marlon de Jesus converting after a defensive mistake, but Puebla leveled when Matias Alustiza sent a looping head over goalkeeper Jonathan Orozco.
In other weekend matches, Carlos Pena's early chip helped Leon overcome Atlas 3-1; Cruz Azul won 2-1 against Santos Laguna in an empty stadium; Veracruz defeated Atlante 2-1; Tijuana secured a 1-0 victory over America and Tigres drew 0-0 with Pachuca.
