Mexican national team forward Javier Hernandez has endured more rough times than enjoyable ones over the last few months, and Tuesday's moment in the Champions League certainly qualifies as one for the former category.

With his side locked in scoreless deadlock at Real Sociedad (while playing against countryman Carlos Vela), Chicharito had a golden chance to tap in from point-blank range...and he managed to skyrocket his chance into the Spanish atmosphere:

At least for Chicharito, his teammates managed to overshadow him. Robin van Persie missed a penalty and Marouane Fellaini was sent off in the 0-0 draw, as United dropped a pair of points on the day crosstown rival Manchester City clinched a place in the knockout stage. (h/t 101 Great Goals)
