It's been a decent week for Cristiano Ronaldo, huh? Five days ago he captured his second Ballon d'Or, and he followed that up by scoring once in Real Madrid's 2-0 win over Osasuna to advance them in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday.

Then, in a league match against Real Betis today, he completely froze goalkeeper Stephan Andersen with this thunderbolt of a shot:

He hit it so hard that the GIF has trouble rendering it smoothly (so here's a video). Did the ball spin, at all?

ronaldo2No. No it did not.

That goal capped off a 5-0 rout by Real Madrid,  with Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema, Ángel Di Maria and Álvaro Morata scoring the other goals. The last of them was assisted by...you guessed it...Cristiano Ronaldo (on a bicycle kick, no less!) Real's win moves it provisionally into a tie with Atlético Madrid and Barcelona at the top of the La Liga table on 50 points, but both Barça and Atlético play on Sunday.
