Watch: Costa Rica's Joel Campbell puts Manchester United in Champions League hole

Manchester United was getting by with a one-goal Champions League deficit away at Olympiakos, a result that would not have quieted the masses calling for David Moyes' head, but one that surely would have been manageable for the second leg at Old Trafford. That is, until Joel Campbell had his say.

On loan at Olympiakos from Arsenal, Campbell put United on perilous Champions League footing with a well-taken 55th-minute goal that extended the lead to 2-0 -- the eventual final score of their round of 16 first leg. Campbell, the Costa Rican international forward who notoriously crippled to the ground under no contact from U.S. defender Matt Besler during World Cup qualifying (Besler subsequently earned a yellow card and was suspended for the USA's second Mexico game of the Hexagonal), curled a great strike from about 25 yards around statuesque defender Rio Ferdinand and past a helpless David de Gea, ramping up the pressure even more on a United team in the midst of a lost season by its lofty standards.

English fans might want to remember that strike -- Campbell's Costa Rica is in England's loaded group along with Italy and Uruguay during this summer's World Cup.
