Two players battling for midfield places on the United States national team at the 2014 World Cup, Kyle Beckerman and Maurice Edu, faced off on Saturday. Both capped off solid performances with goals in the last 10 minutes.

First, Beckerman gave Real Salt Lake a late lead in the 85th minute. After Sebastián Velásquez and Javier Morales combined inside the penalty area, Beckerman made a late run to get onto Morales' cutback. Under pressure, he tapped the ball inside the far post and just out of Zac MacMath's reach.

In the 90th minute, Edu just got on the end of Philadelphia Union teammate Cristián Maidana's corner-kick service. Amobi Okugo jumped in front of him and missed, but Edu was on hand to nod the ball past Jeff Attinella.

With the 2-2 draw, Real Salt Lake stays undefeated through six games. Meanwhile, Philadelphia is winless in three after drawing its last two matches.
