Fans in Denver were treated to a pair of golazos in Saturday's International Champions Cup clash between Manchester United and AS Roma.
Wayne Rooney and Miralem Pjanic dazzled with a pair of strikes that were notable for different reasons. Rooney's opened the scoring in the 36th minute, as he ripped a right-footed screamer across his body from 25 yards (as England fans everywhere wondered where this was during the World Cup):
With the result in hand after Rooney scored again and Juan Mata added another, Roma saved face through Bosnia-Herzegovina international Pjanic, who lobbed United's reserve goalkeeper Ben Amos from his own half of the field, some 55 yards out, taking full advantage of the Denver altitude (it was Pjanic who nailed a 50-yard field goal in training with the Denver Broncos on Friday, much to the delight of Broncos tight end Julius Thomas).
Francesco Totti added a penalty kick to cap the scoring in the 3-2 result.
