Field Hockey's Finest

Eva de Goede and Ellen Hoog :: James Macari/SI Eva de Goede and Ellen Hoog :: James Macari/SI

If you noticed an uptick in interest in women's field hockey during the Olympics last summer, it may have something to do with Eva de Goede and Ellen Hoog. The duo aren't just a hit off the field, they are two of the world's most talented players on the field as well. The duo won gold medals in Beijing and London as members of the Dutch National Team. Hoog, a midfielder who plays for Amsterdamsche Hockey & Bandy Club, has also won three European Championships (2005, 2009, 2011) along with a World Cup and three Champions Trophies. De Goede, a member of the Dutch club AH&BC, has one European Championship and a Champions Trophy. The two were photographed in Las Vegas by veteran SI lensman James Macari and both enjoyed getting out of uniform and glamming it up for the issue. Can they win a third gold medal in Rio de Janeiro? We'll find out in 2016.
