Throwback Thursday

**************

Being a swimsuit model is hard work -- just ask Heidi Klum. In this 2001 video, the German supermodel recalls a rough night in Malaysia. According to the story, Klum's room was infested with mosquitoes and when she woke up in the middle of the night to find her lip swollen up to her nose. In her own words, Klum looked like the "Elephant Woman." She ended up breaking down in tears at 3 a.m, in the hotel room of then-swimsuit editor Diane Smith. Luckily for all involved, the swelling went down by morning and the shoot went off without a hitch. Overall, Klum appeared in nine SI Swimsuit issues. Below is a gallery of her best shots.
