Katherine Webb engaged to former Alabama QB AJ McCarron

Troy Robertson Katherine Webb, 2013 :: Troy Robertson/SI

WHO COULD have seen this one coming? The unofficial First Lady of college football, and Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Katherine Webb, announced she's engaged to her long-time boyfriend AJ McCarron.

Webb became a household name after Brent Musburger waxed poetic about her beauty during an Alabama football game. McCarron is preparing for May's NFL draft, but found time to pop the question.

Let this be a lesson to all young men out there: even if you're a future NFL quarterback, if you like it, then you better put a ring on it. And in this case, a big one.

The former Miss Alabama announced the pending nuptials via Twitter Friday night.
