Tomas Berdych, currently fifth in the world rankings, will be the top seed at the Citi Open ATP event in Washington, D.C. after announcing on Wednesday that he would be joining the field, The Washington Post's Isabelle Khurshudyan reports.

Berdych enters a field that already boasted two other top ten players in No. 6 Milos Raonic and No. 9 Grigor Dimitrov, who both made semifinal appearances at Wimbledon earlier this month.

The tournament, which is scheduled to begin July 26, will be Berdych's first action since being upset by Marin Cilic in the round of 32 at Wimbledon.
