Ana Ivanovic enters the 2014 U.S. Open as the No. 8 seed in the women's draw. Her first-round opponent will be Alison Riske of the United States.

Here is a look back at Ivanovic's past performances at the U.S. Open.

Ivanovic has been a pro since 2003, but she did not appear in an U.S. Open tournament until 2005.

In last year's tournament, Ivanovic fell in the fourth round to No. 2 seed Victoria Azarenka (6-4, 3-6, 4-6). Ivanovic was the No. 13 seed in 2013.

The fourth round elimination came one year after Ivanovic reached the U.S. Open quarterfinals in 2012. Ivanovic reached the quarters as the No. 12 seed, before falling to No. 4 Serena Williams, who went on to defeat Azarenka in the finals.

Ivanovic's appearance in the 2012 U.S. Open quarterfinals was her best personal finish in the tournament's history.

In nine U.S. Open appearances, Ivanovic has been eliminated before the fourth round on four different occasions. The worst finish of Ivanovic's career came back in 2009, when she entered the tournament as the No. 11 seed. Ivanovic lost to unranked Kateryna Bondarenko of the Ukraine in the first round after a tie-breaker in the final set (6-2, 3-6, 6-7).

This year, Ivanovic the only top-ten ranked player in her section. The only player Ivanovic could face before the quarterfinals who is ranked in the top ten is FlaviaPennetta of Italy, who enters the 2014 U.S. Open as the No. 11 seed.

Ivanovic has an all-time career record of 20-9 entering the 2014 U.S. Open.
