WTA tennis pro Melanie Oudin says her heart issues have returned, which will force her to push back the start of her season.

Oudin posted a picture on Twitter showing her with a monitor on her chest, saying she “will probably have to undergo another procedure.”

Oudin, who has not played since September, had a procedure to correct a form of arrhythmia and also had surgery to correct a “a growth” in her eye in November. She said she had been having occasional "episodes" of an accelerated heartbeat for over a year.

"So I have some bad news to share with you guys," Oudin wrote on Twitter. "My heart episodes have come back and that will delay my start even more to the year. I will probably have to undergo another procedure, but for the time being I have to wear a heart monitor to keep track of things."

NGUYEN: Sound bites from Indian Wells

The 23-year-old burst upon the scene in the 2009 when she reached the fourth round at Wimbledon as a qualifier and made the quarterfinals of the U.S. Open as a wildcard.

Her only WTA title came in 2010, when she won a Wimbledon warmup event at Birmingham, England, upsetting Jelena Jankovic in the final.

She is currently No. 165 in the WTA rankings.
