In this week's episode of the SI Tennis Beyond the Baseline Podcast, Sports Illustrated executive editor and host Jon Wertheim talks with World No. 11 and American John Isner.

Isner calls in from the ATP World Tour Finals in London, where he is serving as an alternate. Isner assesses and recaps his 2015 season—his best to date—and talks about his experience being at the ATP Finals as an alternate for the first time. Finishing at a career-high ranking of No. 11, Isner talks about the differences between playing at age 30 and playing at age 25, and what he has had to do differently to stay healthy, avoid injuries and maintain his fitness as he gets older. Isner and Wertheim also talk sports—Isner is a big Carolina Panthers fan—and discuss the recent Ronda Rousey fight and trash-talking, and what place it has in the sport of tennis.
