Victoria Azarenka has hired former No. 1 and two-time Grand Slam champion Amelie Mauresmo as a consultant, as reported by Reuters and the French website We Love Tennis. The two have already begun working together in Monte Carlo, and Mauresmo says she'll be part of Azarenka's team, alongside the top-ranked player's regular coach, Sam Sumyk, for the next two weeks. The ex-Australian Open and Wimbledon winner, who retired in 2009, never made it past the quarterfinals of the French Open, her home major, but she had good overall success on clay. Her coaching skills aren't too shabby either: During the 2010 grass-court season, Mauresmo worked with Frenchman Michael Llodra, who credited her for helping him win the Eastbourne title.
