Daily Bagel: Extra security needed for Rafael Nadal's next event

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39_hsHZFC6k

The Daily Bagel is your dose of the interesting reporting, writing and quipping from around the Internet.

• Video: Jack Sock is having a great week in Memphis. He's into his second ATP quarterfinal thanks in part to this hot shot.

• This is worrisome: After a spate of violence in Acapulco, organizers of next week's tournament there have employed an additional 4,000 security personnel. Acapulco is Rafael Nadal's last stop on his three-tournament clay swing.

• From SuperSport.com, it looks like the coaching arrangement between Marion Bartoli and Amelie Mauresmo is closer to getting done.

"Amélie's going to be probably my main coach - for some tournaments, the big ones, at least. Then of course I need to find someone else, because a year is not only made by a Grand Slam and Indian Wells and Miami. It's a lot of tournaments every week, and I need someone with me every week.

• Oh, well now they're just showing off: Indian Wells has approved expansion plans for the BNP Paribas Open, which include a permanent 8,000-seat Stadium 2, more practice courts and more parking. The tournament is aiming to complete the expansion in time for 2014.

• From The Tennis Space, Andy Murray and Tim Henman will participate in "Rally for Cancer," a benefit for the London hospital treating their friend Ross Hutchins, who was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in December. Murray and Henman, who haven't faced each other since 2006, will play each other in an exhibition match.

• From Sam Querrey's Instagram, here's a picture of him passed out on a boat in 1999.

• The most surprising name on the roster for the new WTA tournament in Florianopolis, Brazil, is Venus Williams. But indeed, per her Twitter, she's made the trip.

• Speaking of Williams, here are more details on ESPN's upcoming documentary, "Venus VS." which looks specifically at her role in bringing about equal prize money for women. I'm looking forward to it.

• Caroline Wozniacki's father, Piotr, received a coaching violation during her quarterfinal win against Bartoli in Dubai. Eyewitnesses sitting near Piotr said he chattered the entire match, but that's not how Wozniacki portrayed it to media. She said she was directing comments at him.

"I'm not sure if it's coaching if I talk to the coach, but apparently that's new rules, so I guess that I can't say anything either nowadays."
• Non-tennis: Fred Armisen and a crew of indie darlings cover TLC's "Waterfalls."
