Daily Bagel: Madison Keys' sweet tooth

The Daily Bagel is your dose of the interesting reporting, writing and quipping from around the Internet.

• Video: The ATP has the 10 best shots from the Sony Open.

Madison Keys dealt with a recent loss by pigging out.

After a second-round loss to Lauren Davis at the Sony Open in Key Biscayne, Fla., recently, in a match Keys knew she could have won, Keys took out her frustration with Starburst, Twizzlers, cheesecake, chips and soda.

Did we mention Keys is 18 years old?

“I don’t think my coach was very happy with how much I ate,” Keys said, laughing. “He knew it was a tough one. I do that maybe once every six months. So I definitely will not be doing that anytime soon.”

• The Miami Herald asked Sony Open tournament director Adam Barrett about the possibility of switching to a clay-court event. "[W]e have no plans to change," he said.

• Interesting note from Steve Tignor about Maria Sharapova:

In Australia, I timed the woman who I thought took the most time between points, the reliably ritualistic Maria Sharapova. I was surprised to see that she took either 19 or 20 seconds every single time. (The limit at the Grand Slams is 20 seconds.) She may extend that closer to 25 at tour events, or she may go over, I don't know. But she was like clockwork, and always within the rules, in Melbourne.

• Novak Djokovic hopes everyone had a good Easter.

• Laura Robson could play one of her best friends, Genie Bouchard, in the second round of The Family Circle Cup in Charleston, S.C.

• Non-tennis: A dog catches chicken nuggets. Happy Monday!
