The old man still has moves.

During a fourth-round match at the French Open on Sunday, Gilles Simon pulled Roger Federer wide of the doubles alley with a sharp cross-court forehand. Most players would have either tried to yank the ball back cross court over the low part of the net or, in the more high-risk shot, gone back down the line. Roger Federer is not most people.

The Swiss Maestro went for the most high-risk shot, threading the small space between the net post and the chair umpire to curl the ball back into the court. The shot gave Federer his sixth set point of the first set, which he converted.

Look closely at the angle of this shot. Federer didn't have a straight line to Simon's backhand corner. He had to put a tremendous amount of spin on a ball that was practically on his shoelaces to whip and curl it in. Ridiculous.

Federer went on to win 6-1, 4-6, 2-6, 6-2, 6-3. He will play Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the quarterfinals.

Here's a compilation of Federer's best around-the-post shots:
