Another French Open upset has left the women's draw without a top three seed in the fourth round for the first time at a Grand Slam tournament in the Open era.

No. 72 Ajla Tomljanovic stunned No. 3 Agnieszka Radwanska 6-4, 6-4 in the third round on Friday. Radwanska joins No. 1 Serena Williams (who lost in the second round) and No. 2 Li Na (who lost in the first round) in making an early exit from the second major of the year.

The top three seeds were all beaten by players born in 1993: Tomljanovic, 21, defeated a top-25 player for the first time; Garbine Muguruza, 20, needed only 64 minutes to crush Williams 6-2, 6-2 for her first victory against a top eight opponent; and Kristina Mladenovic, 21, who has seen her ranking plummet to No. 103 from No. 36, upset Li 7-5, 3-6, 6-1.

"After seeing the two first seeds go out, you kind of feel like, I can do this, too," said Tomljanovic, who is making her French Open debut. "I grew up with these girls that are beating [Williams and Li]."

The top remaining seeds are No. 4 Simona Halep, No. 5 Petra Kvitova, No. 6 Jelena Jankovic, No. 7 Maria Sharapova, No. 8 Angelique Kerber and No. 10 Sara Errani. No. 9 Dominika Cibulkova lost to No. 19 Sam Stosur on Friday. No. 11 Ana Ivanovic, who has had a resurgent year, is also still in the draw.
