Greenwich barely snuck into the championship bracket as the two seed after going 2-2 in pool play. It lost its first game to Jeffersontown but then bounced back with two consecutive wins against the Arkansas State Champ and Pacific Northwest. Those two wins were enough for them to move on and it made the most of it on Wednesday.
West Raleigh nearly won its pool but lost its last game to Manoa 8-1. It had pitched three straight shutouts before that loss and got another dominant pitching performance on Wednesday in yet another shutout win. Thursday, it will look to keep it up and get a big win against Greenwich.
