U.S. Open 2012: Webb Simpson's trophy presentation interrupted by fan

In a bizarre scene, a fan at the U.S. Open interrupted a post-tournament interview with NBC's Bob Costas and U.S. Open champion Webb Simpson.

The man appears suddenly in the camera and starts making squawking sounds as Simpson was answering a question from Costas.

Costas looked on in shock as the man was quickly grabbed and escorted off the green.

"Always something to spice matters up," Costas said.

"Yeah, enjoy the jail cell, pal," Simpson said, laughing.

The 26-year-old Simpson won his first major title at the U.S. Open on Sunday, shooting a 68 to finish at one-over par for the tournament. He finished one shot ahead of Graeme McDowell and Michael Thompson. The win for Simpson, who turned pro in 2008 and lives in Charlotte, N.C., was just his third PGA Tour victory.
