The Oakland Athletics are enjoying another wonderful season, having baseball's best record since last July 1 and currently owning a three-game lead in the American League West heading into this week's showdown with the second-place Texas Rangers.

But that's where the smiles end. The A's stadium is causing major headaches for the A's and any team who visits the O.co Coliseum, which opened in 1966.

A's owner Lew Wolff apologized to the Seattle Mariners and complained to Major League Baseball officials about the stadium conditions, including a raw sewage leak that forced the A's and the Mariners to shower together in the Oakland Raiders' clubhouse. Mariners manager Eric Wedge even had to hold his postgame press conference in a hallway because his office is overrun with sewage.

"If we keep this up the next few months,'' Wolff said to USA Today. "I'll start to get cocky. It's all a bunch of crap. It's a sad situation. I'm not the one in charge of raw sewage. Then again, maybe I am.''

More from USA Today:

The Coliseum is owned jointly by the city of Oakland and Alameda County, and operated by the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Joint Powers Authority. And, if you haven't heard, the city of Oakland's financial situation and pressing needs elsewhere don't exactly put the Coliseum's infrastructure at the top of its priority list.
