Pittsburgh Steelers rookie running back Le'Veon Bell will be out about six weeks with a Lisfranc injury in his right foot, reports NFL.com.

The plan for now is to have Bell rest, and doctors are hopeful that Bell can avoid surgery.

Bell suffered the injury to his right foot during Monday night's preseason loss to the Washington Redskins. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said that Bell will go for a second opinion on the injury. The Steelers are now left with backs Isaac Redman, Jonathan Dwyer and La'Rod Stephens-Howling to battle for the starting nod.

Bell, a second-round pick out of Michigan State, aggravated a left knee injury during a training camp practice earlier this month and did not play in the team's first preseason game.
