An LA Kings Ad Popped Up Next to Madison Square Garden

What's the best way for a team to troll a cross-country rival and current Stanley Cup foe? Take out a giant ad directly next to said rival's stadium.

On Friday, New York hockey fans were likely a bit flummoxed to find a video of Will Ferrell asking LA Kings supporters to get pumped up being broadcast on a screen outside Madison Square Garden, home to the New York Rangers. The ad was first spotted by Kings blog the Royal Half.

Unfortunately for LA fans, the fun didn't last long. As of last night, a Rangers banner had been put in its place.

Considering the Rangers play in what is arguably the advertising capital of the world, they better have something clever to respond with. Game 2 of the Stanley Cup goes down Saturday at 7 p.m.
