La Liga: Messi scores and sets up two more, Barcelona routs Levante

BARCELONA, Spain (AP) — Lionel Messi shrugged off a missed penalty and another injury to Neymar by scoring one goal and setting up two more to lead Barcelona to a 5-0 rout at 10-man Levante on Sunday as it stayed top of Spanish league.

Neymar was substituted in the 50th minute with a left leg injury after Messi set up the Brazil striker to open the scoring in the 34th.

Messi flubbed his spot kick in the 42nd after being fouled by Loukas Vyntra, who was sent off.

Barcelona didn't blink, however, and Ivan Rakitic scored from long range in the 44th.

Messi assisted Neymar's replacement, Sandro Ramirez, in the 57th before Pedro Rodriguez added a goal in the 64th.

Messi capped the demolition with his third goal of the season in the 77th.
