RAMSAU, Austria (AP) World champion Jason Lamy Chappuis of France won a Nordic combined World Cup event Sunday for his first victory in a year and 27th overall.
The three-time former overall World Cup champion and 2010 Olympic gold medalist finished the 10-kilometer cross-country portion in 25 minutes, 58.2 seconds, edging Norway's Mikko Kokslien by 0.2 seconds and Germany's Fabian Riessly by 0.7. Lamy Chappuis' previous win came in Schonach, Germany, in December 2013.
Earlier Sunday, the ski jumping was canceled because of strong winds. Results of Friday's trial jumping determined the starting order for the cross-country, giving Evgeniy Klimov of Russia a 17-second head start.
Klimov led the race for three kilometers before finishing 47th and last, 2:49.2 behind Lamy Chappuis.
The next World Cup event is in Schonach on Jan. 3-4.
