OTTAWA (AP) Canadian champion Kaetlyn Osmond will be sidelined for the rest of the figure skating season while recovering from a broken right leg.
The two-time national champion and Olympic team silver medalist had resumed skating, but decided to focus on a longer recovery rather than risk returning too quickly.
Osmond, 19, will miss nationals and also won't be part of the Canadian team at the Four Continents event and the world championships this season.
She called it ''a really hard decision'' not to compete this year. ''I tried everything to be able to come back, but I just couldn't get to where I wanted to be for competitions this year.
