Newcastle split its Super Bowl ad with 36 other brands
Newcastle Brown Ale has completed its unconventional "Band of Brands" Super Bowl ad, which it is calling the world's first crowdfunded ad for the NFL's big game.
The 60-second commercial, which will only in air in the Palm Springs, Calif., market, features Newcastle along with 36 other brands that chipped in for the premium space, including Sharper Image, Match.com and something called the Detroit Beard Collective, according to Ad Age.
Newcastle is not allowed to buy national ad time for the Super Bowl, as Budweiser InBev has exclusive commercial rights for the season's final game.
