ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) British Olympian Hannah Miley has won the 200-meter freestyle and 440 individual medley on the opening night of the Arena Pro Swim Series in Orlando on Thursday.
Miley, who is from Scotland, won the 200 final in 2 minutes, .31 seconds. She came back 55 minutes later to win the 400 IM with a time of 4:36.74 to move into third in the world rankings.
The three-day meet, which concludes Saturday at the YMCA Aquatic Center, is the third stop in the six-meet series.
Alia Atkinson, a two-time Olympian from Jamaica, took the top spot in the world rankings in the 100 breaststroke with a personal best of 1:06.76, winning by almost two seconds.
Canadian Olympian Audrey Lacroix passed Arianna Vanderpool-Wallace down the stretch to win the 100 butterfly in 59.52.
Brazil's Joao de Lucca won the 200 free at 1:47.98, the fourth best time in the world this year. Conor Dwyer, who holds the No. 2 time, was second in the race at 1:48.94.
Cody Miller, a senior at Indiana, had the second-best time in the world this year, 59.92, to win the men's 100 breaststroke and runner-up Brendan McHugh had the third-best time, 1:00.56.
Pavel Sankovich, an Olympian from Belarus, took the men's 100 fly in 52.55, moving up to sixth in the world rankings.
South African Sebastein Rosseau won the 400 IM in 4:19.71.
