KONTIOLAHTI, Finland (AP) Germany ended Norway's three-year win streak in the men's relay at the biathlon world championships, winning the 4x7.5-kilometer race by 15.4 seconds on Saturday.
The German team of Erik Lesser, Daniel Boehm, Arnd Peiffer and Simon Schempp missed just three targets to win in 1 hour, 13 minutes, 49.5 seconds. Norway took silver after missing six shots, with France 33.6 seconds back in third.
Eight-time Olympic champion Ole Einar Bjoerndalen went the first leg for Norway and earned his 40th career world championship medal, 19 of which are gold.
Norway's anchor Emil Hegle Svendsen was close behind Schempp at the final shooting station but fell when leaving the range and was never able to recover.
