Ipsen and Schultz win diving titles at US Nationals

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) Olympian Kristian Ipsen won the men's 3-meter title and Brooke Schultz topped the women's 1-meter field at the USA Diving national championships Wednesday.

Ipsen scored 462.10 points to earn his 12th career national title and fourth in the individual springboard. Zac Nees was second at 432.05. Aaron Fleshner finished third at 428.95 a day after finishing second on 1-meter.

Ipsen was competing after returning from the world championships in Russia last week, where he was seventh in synchronized 3-meter and sixth on 1-meter.

Schultz won her first senior national title with 266.80. Maria Coburn was second at 251.15. Kassidy Cook finished third at 248.20.

Schultz, the 16-year-old daughter of Florida diving coach Dale Schultz, led the entire contest and scored more than 50 points on four of her five dives.
