Rutgers dismisses five arrested football players
Cornerbacks Nadir Barnwell, Dre Boggs and Ruhann Peele, safety Delon Thompson and fullback Razohnn Gross have all been dismissed from the program after they were arrested on charges stemming from an April assault.
Boggs, who was expected to start at cornerback, was charged with two counts of robbery, two counts of conspiracy to commit an armed robbery, burglary while armed and attempted burglary while armed. He was involved in a second home invasion on May 5.
Barnwell and Stephenson were also slated to start for the Scarlet Knights.
Athletic director Julie Hermann announced the suspension of the players shortly after Thursday’s arrests.
