LAS VEGAS (AP) The latest on the hospitalization of Lamar Odom, who was found unconscious Tuesday in a Nevada brothel (all times local):

Former Rhode Island basketball coach Jim Harrick says NBA star Lamar Odom is in ''much improved'' condition at a Las Vegas hospital after being found unconscious earlier this week at a Nevada brothel.

Harrick told The Associated Press by phone from his Los Angeles home on Friday that he has been in contact with Odom's estranged wife Khloe Kardashian who told him that Odom is off dialysis and his ''kidneys are all right.''

Harrick says he plans to visit Odom at the hospital next week. He says Kardashian has been discouraging too many visitors because ''it's like a circus.''

Odom called Harrick a couple weeks ago, telling his former college coach that he was moving to Las Vegas.

''He had just worked out, he sounded upbeat,'' Harrick says. ''I thought when I hung up that he was in a good place.''

A spokeswoman for Lamar Odom's aunt says the NBA star woke up and spoke three days after being found unconscious at a Nevada brothel.

Alvina Alston, publicist for JaNean Mercer, Odom's maternal aunt and godmother, said that Odom spoke a greeting and gave a thumbs-up Friday morning, his first communication since being hospitalized.

Odom has been unconscious at a Las Vegas hospital since being found Tuesday at the Love Ranch brothel in Crystal, Nevada.

Alston said Mercer is the sister of Odom's late mother who helped raise him in New York, where she still lives. Mercer and other family members, including estranged wife Khloe Kardashian, are in Las Vegas at the hospital.

Khloe Kardashian said her family won't be posting content online while attending to estranged husband Lamar Odom's health crisis after he was found unconscious Tuesday at the Love Ranch brothel in Nevada.

Kardashian's rep confirmed Friday that the message on the reality TV star's official app was posted by the family.

It read: ''As a family, we've decided to hold off on publishing content across our apps while we continue to support and pray for Lamar.''

The message was addressed to fans as a note from Kardashian. The blog-like app offers first-person postings with photos and advice.

Announcing a posting black-out is a rarity for the family, who meticulously document their lives on various social media channels and the ''Keeping Up with the Kardashians'' show.

Odom is hospitalized in Las Vegas.
