Don Meyer memorial service begins in South Dakota

ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) A memorial service for basketball coach Don Meyer has begun on the campus of Northern State University in South Dakota.

As many as 6,000 people are expected to attend Meyer's service, which is also being streamed online.

Meyer had one of the best records in college basketball history when he died Sunday of cancer in Aberdeen, where he finished his career at Northern State University. He was 69.

The public memorial service is being held in the Barnett Center. Photos and video won't be allowed, even on cellphones.

A second memorial service will be held June 1 at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee.
