Brown scores 19; High Point beats UAPB 74-62

HONOLULU (AP) John Brown scored 19 points to lead High Point past Arkansas-Pine Bluff 74-62 on day two of the Outrigger Resorts Rainbow Classic in Honolulu, Hawaii, on Saturday.

Lorenzo Cugini hit a jumper with 6:02 left, tying the game at 54 and sparking an 18-3 run by High Point (2-0) over the next 4:04 that put the game out of reach.

UAPB made just 1 of 7 field goals during that time.

Marcel Mosley led UAPB (0-2) with 26 points on 9-of-16 shooting, but the rest of the team shot 37 percent. Jovaughn Love scored 12.

High Point made 25 of 47 field goals and 17 of 21 free throws.

Brian Richardson, who sat out last season after transferring from South Carolina to High Point, scored 11 of his 16 points in the second half. Cugini finished with 14 points.
