Donovan: Finney-Smith cleared to play vs Miami

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) Florida forward Dorian Finney-Smith has been cleared to play Monday against Miami despite hairline fractures in two fingers on his non-shooting hand.

Coach Billy Donovan says he is ''going into the game not expecting to get very much from him.''

Finney-Smith, the Sixth Man of the Year in the Southeastern Conference last season, missed practice Saturday and Sunday with his left hand in a cast. He will wear a brace when the seventh-ranked Gators (1-0) host the Hurricanes. Donovan says ''it's probably going to be a month before he starts to feel a lot better.''

Finney-Smith led Florida with 15 points in the season opener. He injured his hand in the first half, got it wrapped and finished the game. Tests later revealed fractures in his index and middle fingers.
