Delaware State overwhelms Baptist Bible 104-63

DOVER, Del. (AP) DeAndre Haywood and Larry Haley combined for 35 points as Delaware State overwhelmed Baptist Bible 104-63 on Monday night.

Kendall Gray, who pulled down 12 rebounds, added 15 points as did Todd Hughes. Haywood had 18 points and Haley had 17 as he hit 3 of 6 3-point attempts.

Delaware State (2-0) took an early lead and held a 53-28 advantage at the half. The Hornets shot 52 percent from the field, making 39 of 75 attempts while limiting the Defenders to just 24 of 67 shooting. Baptist Bible (0-2) hit just 31 percent of its shots in the first half.

The Hornets also easily won the rebound battle, pulling down 52 compared to 33 for Baptist Bible.

Marqwon Wynn led the Defenders with 19 points. Abe Valentine added 17 and Dan Decker contributed 14 while grabbing six rebounds.
