CINCINNATI (AP) Trevon Bluiett scored 20 points to lead Xavier to a 97-74 victory over Long Beach State on Tuesday night.

J.P. Macura added 17 points, Myles Davis 15, Remy Abell 13 and Matt Stainbrook 11. The Musketeers (2-0) made 35 of 66 shots from the floor for 53 percent, including 13 of 31 from 3-point range for 41.9 percent.

Mike Caffey led the 49ers (1-2) with 20 points with Tyler Lamb adding 17. Long Beach State bettered Xavier from the floor, making 29 of 53 shots for 54.7 percent, but not from the arc where the 49ers made 6 of 16 for 37.5 percent.

The 97 points were the most scored by Xavier since 2012.

With Xavier leading 33-29 in the first half, Davis sparked an 18-4 run with a streak of nine straight points as the Musketeers went up 51-33. A 10-0 run in the second half put the Musketeers comfortably ahead, 92-73, with 2:52 remaining in the game.
