NORFOLK, Va. (AP) John Papale finished with 17 points, four rebounds and three assists to lead Boston University to a 71-63 win over Norfolk State on Wednesday night.

Cedric Hankerson had 16 points, seven assists and four rebounds, and Nathan Dieudonne had 11 points and 10 rebounds for Boston U. Papale made 5 of 9 3-pointers and the Terriers shot 50 percent from the field on 21-of-42 shooting.

Jeffrey Short had 28 points, six assists and five rebounds, and Malik Thomas tallied 19 points and 12 rebounds for Norfolk State. The Spartans made just 5 of 24 3-point attempts (22 percent).

Short scored 19 points in the first half to give Norfolk State a 34-32 lead at halftime. Early in the second half, up one, Boston went on a 16-2 run behind back-to-back 3-pointers from Cheddi Mosely and five points from Dieudonne.
