Valparaiso dominates Indiana-South Bend 91-55

VALPARAISO, Ind. (AP) David Skara scored 17 points and Vashil Fernandez added 13 plus 10 rebounds as Valparaiso cruised past Indiana-South Bend 91-55 on Wednesday night.

Alec Peters scored 14 points and Tevonn Walker, Keith Carter and Darien Walker 10 each for the Crusaders (2-1), who made 35 of 64 shots for 54.7 percent, including 10 of 24 3-point attempts for 41.7 percent. Fernandez led a whopping 50-22 rebounding edge. That advantage also showed up in the form of 18 offensive rebounds and 40 points in the paint.

Oosha Mitchell scored 12 points to lead the NAIA Titans with Jacob Foster adding 10. The Titans made just 19 of 56 shots for 33.9 percent, including 10 of 34 from the arc.

The Crusaders went up by 11 points with 14:07 left in the first half on Darien Walker's dunk and their lead would never dip under double figures. They led by as many as 42 in the second half.
