ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands (AP) Sterling Gibbs scored 15 points and Brandon Mobley had 12 as Seton Hall held on for a 68-60 victory over Nevada in the opening game at the eight-team Paradise Jam on Friday.
Seton Hall (2-0) held a 57-38 advantage with 9:23 remaining. Nevada gradually ate away at the lead until the Wolf Pack trailed only 63-57 with 1:16 left following Tyron Criswell's 3-point jumper, a Michael Perez free throw and two free throws by Marqueze Coleman.
Angel Delgado pulled down nine rebounds as the Pirates out-rebounded Nevada 39 to 29. Seton Hall made 23 of 57 field goal attempts while limiting the Wolf Pack to 18-of-48 shooting.
