Hewitt was 5 of 10 from behind the arc. Angel Matias and Mike Hughes each scored 12 points, and Trent Wiedeman, Coye Simmons and Curtis Diamond all chipped in 10. Matias grabbed 16 boards as the Eagles out-rebounded the Suns 62-30.
Kaleb Baker led Johnson University with 10 points, and Chris Hilaire added four assists.
Georgia Southern outscored the Suns in the paint 52-22, and had 35 second-chance points.
