Northern Iowa beats George Mason 71-65 in OT

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (AP) Seth Tuttle scored 16 points with eight rebounds and four assists as Northern Iowa beat George Mason 71-65 in overtime Saturday night.

Paul Jesperson added 12 points and five rebounds for the Panthers (8-0). Bennett Koch had 11 points and Nate Buss 10. Wes Washpun led the team with nine rebounds.

The team hit just 37.7 percent from the field and 61.8 percent from the line.

With the Panthers leading 59-57 in the final seconds of regulation, George Mason's Marquise Moore drew a foul and then hit both free throws, sending the game into overtime.

In the extra period, Tuttle hit a layup with less than a minute to play and Jesperson sank two from the line to help the Panthers to the win.

Moore led the Patriots (2-6) with 20 points. Shevon Thompson had nine points and a team-high 11 boards.
