Central Michigan defeats SIU-Edwardsville 94-61
The Chippewas (6-1) were on fire from long range, knocking down a school and Mid-American Conference record of 20 3-pointers (in 35 attempts). Rayson's first 3-pointer had the Chippewas ahead 14-2 en route to a 54-26 halftime lead. He hit 6 of 8 shots including 4 of 5 from long range.
Central Michigan lost a bid for its first 6-0 start since 1963-64 with a loss at Bradley on Tuesday, but rebounded by opening with 3-pointers from Meyer and Fowler, never trailed and dominated the Cougars (1-5) in rebounds, 38-26, and had 21 assists to 10.
The Chippewas are still off to their best start since 2002-03.
Kris Davis scored 21 for SIU-Edwardsville.
