Justin Raffington and Marquan Botley added nine points apiece for Florida Atlantic (4-3), and Kelvin Penn had six points and six rebounds. The Owls hit only 34.7 percent overall from the field, but made up for it with 17-of-24 (70.8 percent) shooting from the line.
A tight first period ended with UCF leading 26-25. In the second, a Justin Massey 3-pointer capped a 15-2 start and the Owls were up 40-28 with 11:59 minutes to play. The Knights slipped behind by 20 on a pair of free throws by Raffington with 4:08 left and the Owls cruised to the win.
B.J. Taylor led the Knights (5-4) with 17 points and three steals. UCF hit just 25.5 percent overall from the field.
