LAS VEGAS (AP) Christian Wood and Rashad Vaughn scored 22 points apiece to help UNLV pull away for a 79-45 win over Southern Utah on Saturday night.

Wood made 9 of 12 field goals and grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds and Vaughn made 5 of 8 3-pointers. Guard Jelan Kendrick pulled down 11 rebounds, blocked three shots and had seven assists, all career bests.

UNLV (9-3) took a 36-28 lead into halftime before Vaughn scored 13 points, including four 3-pointers, during a 24-3 run to open the second.

Southern Utah (3-8) made just 5 of 31 (16.1 percent) second-half field goals and shot 25.4 percent for the game.

Wood tied a career high with five of UNLV's nine blocked shots and the Runnin' Rebels outrebounded Southern Utah 50-32.

Tyler Rawson led the Thunderbirds with 13 points.
